Company formation and business services in Turkey
Support with setting up a company in Turkey, from powers of attorney and document translation to registration, coordination with a licensed accountant and preparation for a corporate bank account. Hamta acts as facilitator and coordinator; the final decision at each step rests with the authority responsible for it.
Incorporation steps
- 1
Initial review and choice of structure
Review of your activity, shareholders and needs, and choice of company type — usually a limited company (Limited Şirket) or a joint-stock company (Anonim Şirket).
- 2
Power of attorney and documents
If shareholders are not in Turkey: an official power of attorney, sworn translation (Yeminli Tercüman) and notarisation of documents; for foreign documents, an apostille or consular legalisation depending on the issuing country.
- 3
Tax numbers for shareholders
Obtaining a tax number (Vergi Numarası) for foreign shareholders before registration.
- 4
Articles of association and registration
Drafting the articles of association (Ana Sözleşme), registration in MERSİS and with the Trade Registry (Ticaret Sicili), and publication of the incorporation notice in the Trade Registry Gazette.
- 5
Chamber of commerce and statutory books
Membership of the local chamber of commerce and certification of the company's statutory books.
- 6
Tax office inspection
Before activating the tax file, the tax office (Vergi Dairesi) inspects the company's registered address (Yoklama).
- 7
Licensed accountant
Introduction to and coordination with a licensed accountant (Mali Müşavir) for bookkeeping and periodic returns.
- 8
Bank account and permits
Preparing documents for a corporate bank account application and, where needed, residence or work permit applications.
After incorporation
Accounting and tax
The company's periodic tax and accounting obligations after incorporation.
Official fees and company formation packages in Turkey (2026)
Foreign nationals can register a company in Turkey, and one is needed for trading, import and export, currency exchange and online services. The limited company (Limited Şirket) is the most common structure; its minimum registered capital is 50,000 Turkish lira, which is not a service fee — it remains the company's own asset.

Transparency and limits
- Opening a corporate bank account depends on the bank's review and approval (KYC/KYB); a bank may refuse an application without giving reasons, and Hamta does not guarantee the outcome.
- Residence and work permits are issued by decision of the Directorate of Migration Management (Göç İdaresi) and the Ministry of Labour; registering a company does not by itself create a right to reside or work.
- The company's tax and social-security obligations start on the day of registration and are the responsibility of the company and its directors, even if it has no activity.
- The time each step takes depends on appointments at the notary, trade registry, tax office and bank, and cannot be guaranteed.
Before you start, review the planned activity and the company's financial and administrative obligations with a Hamta specialist.
